&Supervise and oversee daily operations, supervise the sergeant, take complaints and direct follow-up accordingly. Supervise daily tasks that are presentent from the chain, city government and the like. Follow-up accordingly on such tasks. Atend meetings-interdepartment and in the community, Liason with the Captain, chain and media. Address media in major incident and handle media phone. Act as Incident Scene Commander until properly relieved. Mentor sergent and subordinants. Lead by example. Review packages, reports from sergeants and tasks fowarded for completion. Deligate investigative procedures for citizen complaints/contacts and review for accuracy and policy violation. Administer discipline for sergeant(s). Respond to major incidents and provide vriefings to responding support units (SET,CID Chain etc). Notify appropriate units for respond in specific incidents (SOD/TEU CID etc). provide debriefings on major incidents. Assist in summary involving circumstances of Unusual Occurrance magnitude. Identify and address areas needed for improvement for sergeant and subordinants. Form action plans as needed (personnel related as well as operational). Train at squad level. Make recommendations to staff on training. Act in accordances to all plans, policies and requests for higher authority to provide quality service to the department and community. Follow all responsibilities outlined in key responsibilites not mentioned above. ::&Pull all related data pertaining to the complaint and any perifrial concerns that may impact the concern. Study and form an action plan after determining there is in fact a problem in that area. Include personnel for imput and stratagies. Include traffic engeneering. Discuss the plan with Captain and any superior above who may be interested in participating in the final proposed plan (include the chain under direction of the captain). Implement the plan utilizing ideas from perosnnel/SOD/TEU and other agencies utilize in forming the plan. Include any past action plans similar in nature. React to to situation according to the identified problem. Study the resonse and results for effectiveness. Follow up with remedies identified during the implimentation stag. Adjust according to the response accordingly to form effective results. Follow up with response to city government initiating complaint after reviewing results and remedies with the chain. Monitor after the fact for maintaing quality results. ::&To provide accurate and timely information in a professional manner. To act as a liason for the Department when disseminating information pertinant to circumstances of serious incidents (daily). Representing the Chief of Police and the Department in the most professional way. Assuring information being released is in accordance with policy and General Statutes in order to protect those needed to be protected (subject information temporarily witheld). Assure that providing information allowed for dissemination in accordance to policy is a paramount priority. ::
