&The Headquarters, CERDEC Branch Chief responsible for Logistics and Facilities Management.::&Excellent communicator that is succint, direct and focused and equally good listener. A team player, that works well internal to the organization but equally as well with contemporaries and orgaizations outside of CERDEC. Responsive, initiates or takes action in a timely manner. Has high expectations of her team, but does not ask or expect anyone to do something she would not be willing to perform. Ensures her team and she conduct the requisite research, to successfully plan, coordinate, and implement any project/program or initiative. Optimizes use of her leaders, contempararies, and subordinates time. ::&On a daily basis, she simply leads by example, and continuously demonstartes all the Army Values. As demanding as she is of herself, she has high expectations and standards of her team....not only from a work ethic, but from a value and professional growth perspective.::&First, mission success of her team collectively and the members professional and personal growth. Second, the mission success of CERDEC and finally from a more strategic standpoint...the value added to supporting the Warfighter. ::&?xxx?xxx?xxx?xxx?4::Consistently reminds the team what they do is important and matters.&?xxx?xxx?xxx?xxx?4::An excellent listener. Barb will carefully listen and assimilate the information. Rarely does she make a snap decision. Does her homework, evaluates everything and makes the best possible decision...regardless of whether it is something that will be well received or not. BLUF: does what is in the best interest of the organization and the people.&?xxx?xxx?xxx?xxx?4::Extremely measured, levelheaded and consistent.&?xxx?xxx?xxx?xxx?4::The work atomosphere/environment Barb has created, fosters personnel being upfront. The vast majority of the time, if it is soemthing important to the individual, it will be of interest and likely importance to her. &?xxx?xxx?xxx?xxx?4::Unquestionably straight forward. Does not mince words, is matter of fact and very consistent.&?xxx?xxx?xxx?xxx?4::Her team clearly understand what the teams mission is. Although other agencies within her organization do not always agree with what must be accomplished, they understand the necessity to do so....even with reservation. &?xxx?xxx?xxx?xxx?4::&?xxx?xxx?xxx?xxx?4::&?xxx?xxx?xxx?xxx?4::Yes, but professionally. Will not call someone out and embarrass them. She will professionally handle behind closed doors. &?xxx?xxx?xxx?xxx?4::Again, it is the environment shes established. If youve made a mistake, it is human. Learn from it and try not to repeat. &?xxx?xxx?xxx?xxx?4::Absolutely!&?xxx?xxx?xxx?xxx?4::Knows her people personally and professionally. They are considered part of her family.&?xxx?xxx?xxx?xxx?4::Suspect so.&?xxx?xxx?xxx?xxx?4::Again, leads by example and expects her team to emulate the Army Values.&?xxx?xxx?xxx?xxx?4::As much as her schedule and time permits.&?xxx?xxx?xxx?xxx?4::Track record indicates the team is doing the right things and making a positve impact to the commands mission and botton line.&?xxx?xxx?xxx?xxx?4::&?xxx?xxx?xxx?3?xxx::The teams goals may not always appear to align with the commands goals. But in actuality they do align, perspectives are what do not.&?xxx?xxx?xxx?3?xxx::&?xxx?xxx?xxx?xxx?4::&1. Sometimes too direct - softening the message may lessen kickback by oppositon.
