I do not think the DMIA should "certify" companies as they do not know anything about the software technical issues. I think you have to leave it up to the individual distributor/manufacturer software companies to write the software that meets the standard. A member committee could be the certifying body but I do not think DMIA employees should do the certifying. If a fee were justified then people will pay it but if it appears to be just a revenue genereating item for the asssociation then I think DMIA will receive some objections to the fee.
