&Develop specific technologies related to Satellite Communications to the point where they can readily be transitioned to a Program Manager for fielding. Provide expert technical support, advice and guidance within the division and to our customers. Support business development efforts. Ultimately, support the warfighter. ::&Rich is a good and considerate listener. He shows respect to everyone around him. He works very hard, expecting more from himself than anyone else in the division. He defends his people. Rich is a genius with an enormous amount of technical knowledge, but remains open to new ideas and differing points of view. In all of these ways, Rich demonstrates the traits that make people want to support him to the best of their ability. ::&I cant see into Richs head and do not know what model or theory Rich ascribes to. But Id say that Rich lives by the golden rule of doing to others as you would like them to do undo you. He leads from the front, working harder than anyone who works for him, yet he is tolerant and supportive of all the members of his team. Rich wants his team members to have meaningful work and to develop their skills. ::&I dont know. ::&?xxx?xxx?xxx?3?xxx::&?xxx?xxx?xxx?xxx?4::&?xxx?xxx?xxx?xxx?4::&?xxx?xxx?xxx?xxx?4::&?xxx?xxx?xxx?xxx?4::&?xxx?xxx?2?xxx?xxx::&?xxx?xxx?xxx?3?xxx::&?xxx?xxx?xxx?xxx?4::&?xxx?xxx?2?xxx?xxx::&?xxx?xxx?2?xxx?xxx::For this and the prior question, there was a horrendous issue this year in one of the labs involving Richs team. Its not clear what happened or who did what, but it was bad. &?xxx?xxx?xxx?3?xxx::As a team lead, Rich is limited in terms of his being able to promote or reward anyone. He does certainly talk his folks up when asked for input/feedback on them. &?xxx?xxx?xxx?xxx?4::&?xxx?xxx?xxx?3?xxx::I have no knowledge on this one way or another. You should probably include an answer that lets me opt out of the question. &?xxx?xxx?xxx?3?xxx::Rich provides his team with meaningful and interesting work and expects them to act professionally and maturely. Ive not seen him dress anyone down and dont think he would ever do so in front of me or anyone else. Which is all good and appropriate. But because of the one negative incident this year, I wonder if Rich may provide a bit too much leeway to his folks and may need to be a bit more controlling and a little less trusting. Weird to say that, as most managers are the opposite. But something to consider. &?xxx?xxx?xxx?xxx?4::&?xxx?xxx?xxx?3?xxx::&?xxx?xxx?xxx?xxx?4::&?xxx?xxx?xxx?3?xxx::&?xxx?xxx?xxx?xxx?4::&?xxx?xxx?xxx?3?xxx::&Rich is a great leader and my advice to any young engineer would be to model themselves after him. His work ethic, encyclopedic knowledge, clear thinking and respect for others are an inspiration to others. In addition, his devotion to his family demonstrates him to be a well-rounded American. He develops and maintains important relationships with customers and co-workers. In short, there is not much room for improvement. Possibly he could learn to fly and cure cancer. And stop being so nice... :)::
