I would look at the Downtown Middle School to determine if there were any issues there that could be delt with like where is their crosswalk in relation to this intersection. Do the children congregate outside near the roadway, is a barrier needed to keep potential vehicles away from the building or playground. What is the studen pickup pattern that the school utilizes and does it affect the intersection in question. 
<BR>Finally I would ask the DOT to look at the intersection with me and ask for suggestions from them on how to make the intersection safer.

I would look at the Downtown Middle School to determine if there were any issues there that could be delt with like where is their crosswalk in relation to this intersection. Do the children congregate outside near the roadway, is a barrier needed to keep potential vehicles away from the building or playground. What is the studen pickup pattern that the school utilizes and does it affect the intersection in question.
<BR><BR>I would ask the traffic enforcement unit to place the traffic pad there to see if speedinf was part of the problem. If indicated, I would ask the appropriate patrol district and the traffic enforcement unit to monitor the area and to take enforcement action as needed. 
<BR><BR><BR>Finally I would ask the DOT to look at the intersection with me and ask for suggestions from them on how to make the intersection safer.
