&The technolgy updates and real world examples of what works and what does not. The advice to question vendor claims is most likely the most valuable if you want to avoid large failures. Meeting new contacts is also a bonus as it is important to be able to network with peers.::&Although the R%26D updates were facinating they are not very useful in my current area of expertise. They are good to be able to see if the products actually make it to market several years down the road. I know that ACTS tries to encourage other vendors to present and I am assuming that the invites were declined the completness of the sessions would be enhanced by other vendor views. Having said this I believe that the presenters at this session did a very good job of covering all the major players strengths and weaknesses::&It is clear that over the years ACTS has been able to develop a roster of top gun speakers on a wide varitey of current topics. In particular I liked the real world view given by David Hines, The honesty of Dennis wonder when discussing the pros and cons of his companies products and strategies. Joe Zitters machine gun history of the Open Source movement was a highlight. John Kirschner was able to make some dry subjects interesting with his real world examples and anectdotes.::&?xxx?xxx?xxx?xxx?xxx::&?0?xxx?xxx?xxx?xxx::&NO::&The technology architecture could be trimmed%3B%0D%0AWireless technology %3B perfromance measurement/customer satisfaction might be good topics to add ito the mix.::&?xxx?1?xxx?xxx?xxx::&It had been several years since since I had been involved in the technical HW/SW aspects of IT so my knolowedge levels were rusty. After the one week TAS session I have been able to quickly catch up to where I need to be in this area. A throughly enjoyable and thought provoking experience. Rick Sellick Information Technology Services PWGSC::&NCS/ITS has always been a strong supporter of TAS. Will continue to encourage Jane M. to participate.::&?xxx?xxx?xxx?xxx::&?xxx?xxx?xxx?xxx?xxx?5?xxx::Data Center Operations; IT Project Management, Performance Reporting and Measurement and Client Satisfaction Surveys
